Education at The Landmark School
At The Landmark, we work for the development of all aspects of an individual’s personality. We are committed towards a holistic education which aims to instil appropriate and desirable ethical values to make students productive and responsible members of society. We focus on excellence in academics from the beginning of the academic session and employ suitable remedial measures for enhancing their learning performance by identifying his/her learning difficulties at regular time intervals.

The School Program
The school offers a full program of activities with a judicious mix of academic, sporting and co-curricular activities, in order to provide truly broad based and comprehensive all round education. The education program is students centered and all students are encouraged to develop their innate potential to the fullest. A rigorous curriculum has been devised to take care of the intellectual needs of the students, with a specific emphasis on preparation for further academic study in India. A humane attitude in the school promotes self esteem supports and encourages constructive students’ interaction.

Early Years Programme (Playway,Nursery,K1 and K2)
The importance of early year education cannot be underestimated and at The Landmark School, we have a truly outstanding Kindergarten Wing. Children from 2.5 years to 5 years old have a dedicated infrastructure designed keeping their needs in mind. We are blessed with a fantastic environment for our youngest children to explore and a world-class curriculum focused on their individual learning needs.

We use the early Xseed Curriculum as a base but adapt this to our international setting. Xseed has been incorporated in the kindergarten to ensure that learning takes place till the deepest levels. We have an excellent team of highly trained teachers who work closely with children to unveil their talents and promote development in a fun, engrossing and entertaining manner. To enhance the physical growth and development of the children, we have a dedicated sports program run by The Landmark. Particular success has been experienced with students who begin their educational journey in our kindergarten program as it provides a strong and positive start and also helps to develop fine and gross sports skills. Our youngest lions are our pride and joy!

The Primary School (Grade 1 to 5)
Age Group — 6-11 Years The Landmark School offers a curriculum which is balanced and broadly based for the young students to start the journey of education without burden or fear. Nurturing environment of opportunities helps in academic and co-scholastic develop unlimited curiosity which ensures that students have fun, play and aim to achieve high.
Primary education consists of an year cycle: Grade 1 to 5. The primary curriculum aims to provide a broad learning experience and encourages a rich variety of approaches to teaching and learning that cater for the varied needs of individual children. The primary curriculum is designed to nurture the child in all dimensions of his or her life—spiritual, moral, cognitive, emotional, imaginative, aesthetic, social and physical.

Curriculum The Primary School Curriculum outlines the contents of children’s learning—the what and how of children’s learning—for children’s first eight years in school, from junior infants to sixth class. The curriculum aims to:

Growing Years Programme

The Middle School (Grade 6 to 12)
Growing Years Programme is structured to meet child’s varied intellectual and developmental needs. The main aims of the Programme are developing skills related to writing, reading, reflecting, critical thinking, public speaking, fostering initiative among students and a desire to acquire knowledge. Art, Drama, Computer Science, Music, Yoga, and Dance are integrated into the mainstream curriculum and are further strengthened as optional co-curricular activities. Personal, Social, and Health Education helps students address their age-specific interests and concerns, builds awareness, and promotes compassionate and ethical conduct. Physical Education is offered in a more formal manner and sports skills are fine-tuned. This prepares students to pursue sports in a more structured and purposeful manner, including studying sports in the Secondary School as a formal subject.

Assessment

Assessment in primary school is about building a picture over time of a child’s learning progress across the curriculum. The teacher uses different ways to gather evidence about how and what the child learns on an ongoing basis. This information is used to celebrate the child’s current learning, and to help make decisions about next steps for future learning.
